THE POWER RANGERS ARE DEAD!
Fifteen years ago, the last group of super-powered teenagers chosen to bear the mantle of the Power Rangers made the ultimate sacrifice in a struggle against a secret alien threat. They pushed back the invaders, protecting the Earth and the citizens of Angel Grove in the process. When the dust settled, all that remained of the heroes were the set of mysterious power coins that served as the source of their power. Each of these power coins were imbued an animal spirit that had represented the heroic teenagers.
Task Force Zero, a secret government agency, was assigned with cleaning up the battlefield and hiding the truth from the general public. No one could ever know what really happened that day. Taking the power coins into their possession, Task Force Zero remained in Angel Grove, seeking to investigate just why the city attracted so much extraterrestrial activity. However, in the end, they found nothing. The attention turned from monitoring alien activity to researching the power coins.
Over the last five years, breakthroughs were reached in the creation of duplicate power coins. They didn't hold the animal spirit like the originals, but Task Force Zero was able to reverse-engineer the coins to mimic their power. They ran many unsuccessful trials, until one day a child unwittingly picked up a coin and activated it successfully. After that, many children were tested, but only a few were chosen to participate in the experiments. The coins reacted to some in negative ways and ignored others.
In the end, four more children were chosen. Five in total, they would later be introduced to Angel Grove as the Justice Rangers. Unfortunately for them, the alien threat loomed on the horizon. Their goal is simple; to enslave Earth's inhabitants and add the planet to a long list of conquered worlds. And this alien threat would mark the return of the Power Rangers.
Morphin is an original game based off the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers universe. This game is AU, and so no prior knowledge of the series is needed whatsoever! It will revolve around the group of teenagers chosen to become Power Rangers, the students of Angel Grove, the teenagers recruited by Task Force Zero to capture the Rangers, and lastly the alien invaders sent to conquer the planet. |
